Planning the Smart/Net Metering Act

I posted a Daily Kos diary on the Smart/Net Metering Act the other day.

I'm hoping that this will start a conversation (or series of conversations) about various aspects of the Act. On a related note, I'm hoping to use the comment section of the diary to continue various conversations.

chapter1

ENERGIZE AMERICA: Neighborhood Power Act -- Draft 2 -- Time for thoughts/comments/assistance --

As per Re-Energizing ... ENERGIZE AMERICA ..., the Energize America team (and all of Daily Kos) has been asked by a senior member of Congress to develop elements of the plan for introduction as legislation in the Congress. To start with, we plan to develop 5-10 concept papers, fleshed out as best we can with community input, for then working with legislative counsel and other Congressional resources to arrive at the actual legislative initiatives.

_Re-Energizing ... ENERGIZE AMERICA_ has the full list of Energize America Acts that we plan to develop. At this time, we are still developing our team approach (volunteers, comments, other contributions VERY WELCOME) and developing the plan for strengthening the Energize America 2020 as a home base for this activity.

Making Energy Cents -- From the Home to the Globe

nergy has become an ever-more central part of my life - personal, intellectual, and professional. This ranges from working with the Energize America team (and leading revamped EA2020 for 2007 and legislative action), to serving on the Board of The Energy Consensus (a non-profit working to change the discussion of energy in DC), being trained by The Climate Project and giving lectures, writing letters to the editor and OPEDs on energy/environmental issues, advising organizations as to energy options, to efforts to foster local initiatives re renewables and energy efficiency patterned on San Francisco's Vote Solar to spending a few minutes at the end of the day (especially before weekends) turning off lights and computers in many offices at the end of the work day, to trying to change the energy patterns in my home.
